Literature, English and American

hmm... even trying my best, cannot say anything of AMERICAN literature, but English one - yeah! Not mentioning JRRT (of course!) i love C.S.Lewis' books. They are something increadible! I don't mean only "Narnia" set, he's got whole bunch of another interesting stuff.

I read Rey Bredberry, and you know, he's good!! but I didn't like Hemingway. I read Tolkien, and he's much better in original than in ANY translation.
Also I believe that the only possible way to understan English poetry is to read it in original. Now i'm trying to read Robert Burns, but sometimes it's difficult to understand his Scotish dialect. Newertheless, I like him.
Don't you think that his verses very similar to Esenin's?

Burns is one of my favs! I've heard him being compared to Esenin/ Agree/ Hecan also be called "folk poet", and he's got a lot of similarities in style, as well.
And yeah, i hate Hemingway! :)

I read a lot of English and some American works in original leanguage? I liked the most works of Byron, Shelly and Rowling.

oh... it`s about a girl who was a prostitute as I can remember... actually, I haven`t read it, bot I`d love to! It`s like a modern american tragedy..

weel if you like modern literature I like to reccomend one play that I recently read (it was writtern in 1996 i think). I need to look up name of the play and its author...(I can't belive I forgat the name, i read it not long time ago)
